Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information NuriTap collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the NuriTap app, the NuriTap Pro app for care providers, and nuritap.com (together, the "Service").
1. Information we collect
| Category | Examples | When |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Name and email address from Sign in with Apple or Google; an account ID | When you sign in |
| Health and wellness information | Symptoms you select or describe, results of daily checks (such as reaction time or balance scores), answers you give in checks, notes from care visits | When you use checks, request care, or have a visit |
| Camera and microphone | Images and audio used for checks and video visits | Only while a check or visit is on screen. Check images are analyzed on your device and are not uploaded |
| Video visit recordings | Audio and video of a care visit | Only after you agree to recording |
| Location | Precise location | When you ask for help or request care, so we can share it with the care desk and find nearby providers. We do not collect location in the background |
| Motion and activity | Daily step count; movement signals used to detect a possible fall | While the app is running. Fall detection runs on your device |
| Family connections | Names and contact details of family members you invite, and what you choose to share with them | When you invite family |
| Consent records | What you agreed to, when, the version, and an image of your signature | During sign-up and when you change a consent |

| Device and usage | Device model, operating system, app version, crash reports and basic usage events | While you use the app. We do not collect advertising IDs |
| Support | Messages you send us | When you contact us |
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: connect you with care providers, run video visits, show your check results, and notify your family as you choose.
- To keep you safe: share your location and request details with the care desk when you ask for help or when a possible fall goes unanswered.
- To match you with the right provider, for example by language and distance.
- To answer questions in "Ask anything." Your question and relevant context are sent to an AI service provider to generate an answer. We configure these providers, where the option exists, so your content is not used to train their general models.
- To operate points, memberships and support.
- To fix problems, protect the Service, and meet legal obligations.
- For research, only if you opt in (see section 6).
We use sensitive information, such as health and precise location, only to provide the Service you request and for the purposes above.
3. How we share information
- Care providers you connect with. The nurse, physician or caregiver who accepts your request sees your name, request details, relevant check results and location.
- Family members you choose. They see only what you turn on in Family settings. Emergency alerts are always shared with connected family.
- Service providers that process information for us under contract, such as cloud hosting and storage (for example Cloudflare), sign-in, notifications and crash reporting (Google Firebase), video infrastructure (LiveKit), and AI services. They may use information only to provide services to us.
- Emergencies. If we believe someone's life or safety is at risk, we may share information with emergency services.
- Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
- Business changes, such as a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
4. Health information and HIPAA
When you receive care from a licensed provider through NuriTap, information from that care may be protected health information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). In that case we handle it as described in our agreements with those providers and as HIPAA requires. Wellness information you create yourself in the app, such as daily checks, is protected under this policy and applicable state health privacy laws, including the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act where it applies.
5. Video visit recordings
California and some other states require everyone on a call to agree before it is recorded. We ask for your consent before recording and show a notice during every recorded visit. Recordings are encrypted and stored so that your care provider can refer to them. You can decline recording; if you do, some providers may not be able to offer a visit.
6. Research (optional)
If you opt in, we may use information that has been de-identified — with names and direct identifiers removed — for research to improve care for older adults. Where required, research is reviewed by an institutional review board. You can withdraw at any time in My → Consents; this stops future use.
7. How long we keep information
- Account, check results, family links and points: while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days after you delete your account.
- Video visit recordings and visit notes created by licensed providers: kept for the period required by medical record laws, then deleted.
- Consent records: kept as long as needed to show that consent was given.
- Backups: removed within 90 days.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and audit logs. Care providers see only the requests they accept. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
9. Your choices and rights
- Change camera, microphone, location, motion and notification permissions in your phone settings.
- Choose what your family can see in Family settings.
- Access, correct, download or delete your information, and withdraw optional consents, in the app or by emailing us.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to access, correct and delete it, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of other states with consumer health data laws may have similar rights. To make a request, use the app or email roy@bukcs.com. We will verify your identity before acting on a request. You may use an authorized agent.
10. Children
The Service is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the information.
11. Where information is processed
NuriTap stores service information in the United States. Our R&D center is in Seoul, Korea. Some service providers may process information in other countries under appropriate safeguards.
12. Changes
We will post updates here and change the effective date. For significant changes we will notify you in the app before they take effect.
